Room to Discover is currently hiring a temp-to-perm project manager. This part time, contract position, works 15-20 hours per week, based in our coworking space in Jersey City, NJ, with potential to grow into a full-time position. (Some hours may be completed remotely).

This is a non-corporate environment; candidates must be tech-savvy and adaptable as priorities shift. The right cultural fit has a “can-do” attitude, is willing to take initiative, and is excited to roll up their sleeves.

Responsibilities:

The project manager coordinates personnel and resources to maintain progress on a range of company initiative, across divisions and technology platforms. You will be primarily responsible for maintaining (or establishing) our various web properties and other technology tools. 

This position does not require web development or programming expertise, but you should be comfortable as an end user of a range of technology interfaces. The right candidate will quickly attain proficiency with tools such as Trello, WordPress, MailChimp, Zoho CRM, and more.

  • Maintain or establish our company profiles and settings on various online platforms

  • Establish and monitor systems (including APIs) for communication between platforms

  • Identify and deploy appropriate resources and personnel for various projects

  • Establish and track project milestones

  • Take ownership of projects, manage communication among teams

  • Proactively address delays and other obstacles to project completion

  • Handle a range tasks, simple and complex, that contribute to company success

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Preferably in a Relevant Area (business, marketing, technology)

  • 1-2 Years Professional Experience as a Project Manager, Office Manager, or Executive Assistant

  • Reliable Transportation to Jersey City, NJ

  • Available to Work a Minimum of Two Days per Week On-Site

Compensation:

This is a contractual, temp-to-perm contract position. Minimum of 75% of work hours to be completed on-site. Remaining hours may be completed off-site.

Hourly compensation is commensurate with experience, from $15-$20/hour.

  • The desire or interest to pursue a career in education, preferably in the math sphere

  • Support our company’s mission by developing educational materials for classroom and professional development purposes which may include: lesson plans, assessments, graphic organizers, manuals, slideshows, and videos

Interns will participate in a 3-month internship, completing 10-15 hours per week. Applicants must be available to work two days per week at our Jersey City headquarters. Additional hours may be completed on-site or remotely. Check with your college’s career services office regarding procedures for receiving academic credit. Please note that this is an unpaid internship!

Requirements:

  • Coursework in education or experience working in a school are strongly preferred

  • Must be punctual and organized

  • Be capable of working both independently and collaboratively

  • Should be proficient in technology and have experience using G-Suite

  • Must follow through on their commitments

  • Have a willingness to learn new things and be an effective communicator

  • Ideal candidates are looking for school credit. Education majors or related fields are preferred

This internship focuses on how digital marketing can help businesses communicate their value propositions to potential clients. If you’re very comfortable with technology and interested in learning more about e-mail marketing, web analytics, and other digital marketing tools, this internship is perfect for you.

You’ll learn what it takes to build a business from the ground up in an extremely hands-on experience. Your contributions will assist in creating brand awareness to increase revenue, reach, and repeat customers.

Successful candidates will:

We are seeking interns who are organized, independent, and passionate about the promise of digital marketing.

  • Learn the principles of internet marketing as a part of a small team

  • Contribute to a range of projects, including e-mail and social media marketing, customer relationship management, web analytics, and more

  • Learn to use digital marketing tools such as WordPress, MailChimp, G-suite and Agile CRM.

  • Work with the team to cultivate community engagement, build our audience, and track the impact of our initiatives as well as additional key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Connect with education influencers and industry professionals 

Interns will participate in a 3-month internship, completing 10-15 hours per week. Applicants must be available to work two days per week at our Jersey City headquarters (ideally Monday and Thursday). Additional hours may be completed on-site or remotely. Check with your college’s career services office regarding procedures for receiving academic credit. Please note that this is an unpaid internship! All Digital Marketing candidates must include a PDF of their resume and cover letter in order to be considered.
