Job Posting: Sales Development Representative (Part-Time, Contract)

Room to Discover is a fast-growing startup that provides personalized professional learning journeys to teachers and education leaders. We help school and district leaders bring transformative change to their classrooms, in a way that empowers teachers and helps them to cultivate work-life balance.

We are looking for a skilled Sales Development Representative to help us bring our revolutionary approach to a wider audience. You should be comfortable talking to high-level decision makers, and using technology to support outreach and organization.

This is a part-time (10 hours) position, with the opportunity for the right candidate to quickly grow into a role with more hours and greater responsibility. 

Objectives

Success in the role of Sales Development Representative is primarily measured in the increase in the number of outbound prospects, increase in the rate of inbound inquiries developed to sales qualified leads, and the revenue derived from both.

Secondary measures of success include improvements in our sales process, such as developing and refining automations, creating systems to effectively coordinate outreach across departments, and using metrics to gauge the success of our sales initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Consistent, organized, and dependable
  • Able to handle shifting priorities and learn new skills quickly
  • Excellent listening and note-taking skills
  • Expertise with Google Suite: Calendar, Gmail, Drive, Slides, etc
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of sales fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using a CRM (especially HubSpot)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or similar field
  • Work or experience in sales or account management
  • Knowledge of education industry

Responsibilities

The Sales Development Representative is responsible for generating new leads, and working closely with account executives to shepherd leads through the latter stages of the sales process.

  • Outbound Lead Generation: Use emails and phone calls to identify prospects and schedule discovery meetings
  • Inbound Lead Generation: Connect with prospects who express interest through our website and qualify or disqualify the for next stages in the sales process
  • Deal Flow: Following discovery meeting, track progress of deals and support account managers through closing
  • CRM Maintenance: Keep up-to-date records on contacts in CRM, import/remove new leads, add and revise email sequences, and so on
  • Administrative: Manage calendars, schedule appointments, organize files, take notes, and other tasks as needed

Compensation

This is a part-time, contract position with significant opportunities for advancement. Compensation depends heavily on performance, with incentives contributing 50% or more above base for successful candidates.
