Job Summary: As Sales Development Representative at Room to Discover, you will be responsible for generating new leads and qualifying potential customers. You will play a critical role in building our customer base by conducting outbound prospecting activities, engaging with potential clients, and nurturing leads to create a robust sales pipeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth of our startup while gaining valuable sales experience in the EdTech industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, emailing, and social media outreach, to identify potential customers and generate new leads.
  • Engage with leads and conduct initial qualification to assess their needs, budget, and fit with our product offerings.
  • Educate potential customers about our EdTech platform and the value it can bring to their educational needs.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute effective outreach strategies and campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and lead data in our CRM system.
  • Build and nurture relationships with leads through regular follow-ups, providing relevant information and resources to move them through the sales funnel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to effectively position our product and differentiate it in the market.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in sales or customer service, preferably in a B2B or B2G environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with potential customers.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong desire to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid (remote/on-site) work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools is a plus.
  • Passion for education and a strong belief in the transformative power of technology in the learning process.


Additional Information:

  • This is a part-time (20 hours) position that will grow to full-time in the next 3-6 months
  • Located at our workspace in Charlottesville, VA.
