A Personalized Learning Success Story
Ricky
Middle School Math Teacher
Brooklyn, NY
When I first introduced personalized learning, it was scary. I hadn’t seen anything like it in other classrooms. I told myself I would stop if my students stopped making progress, but we never got to that point.
Working with a coach provided me with a point of reference. It was comforting to have that support while trying something new. As with most endeavors, the right support is a vital element of success.
Before, they were just focused on getting a good grade. Now, they ask questions that reflect a growth mindset and a more genuine approach to learning.
This approach allowed me to build my students up from where they were starting, so they could handle grade level work. As a result, they were more engaged, and their engagement led to higher achievement.
Perhaps the best feature of personalized learning is that no student gets overwhelmed, to where the can’t handle the material. No student gets bored as a result of the work being too easy.

How it Works
A Diagnostic and Prescriptive Approach to Addressing Every Student's Needs
Phase I
Months 1-4
The first phase of personalized learning implementation covers three essential steps.
Plan: Begin by establishing goals and identifying your school’s resources and strengths. Teachers are trained on the platform of your choice.
Launch: Next, we provide demo lessons and in-class support to help you address common implementation challenges.
Reflect: We review student data to inform instructional decisions and next steps for your PL initiative.
Phase II
Month 5 and Beyond
In Phase II, schools build on successful personalized learning programs for enhanced outcomes.
Respond: We help your team use data to inform whole group and small group instruction, as well as one-on-one interventions.
Beyond: Students take on increased ownership of their learning. Gamified and collaborative learning structures further increase independence, achievement and engagement.
